Celebrate 4sqDay with the foursquare community!

Last year, a group of foursquare users in Tampa dreamt up a fun new way to connect with all the other foursquare users in their area. Marking 4/4^2 on their calendar, they declared the first foursquare(d) – get it, four squared = sixteen – day, 4/16. As word spread, nearly 300 local 4sqday parties took shape, from Kansas City to Kuala Lumpur.

To learn more about this fan-organized global event, check out 4sqday.com/learn and blog.4sqday.com to discover all the fun ways you can celebrate 4sqDay in your town. Then, head over to meetup.com/foursquare and find a local 4sqDay meetup event on April 16th, 2011. We’ll be sending out kits – filled with stickers, pins, and banners – to organizers with large gatherings planned.

This year marks the second annual 4sqDay and foursquare’s second birthday. We are so touched by the support we get from the over 8,000,000 people in the foursquare community, and love that 4sqDay has bloomed from that.

So, thanks once again from all of us, and don’t forget to check out meetup.com/foursquare to find the 4sqDay event near you (or organize one if there are none planned)!

P.S. We created the new special foursquare day design because so many of you love the new badges. Our lawyers have even cleared it so you can put the 4sqday logo on anything you want, even trucker hats! If you want to use any of our other logos, send an email to the team at legal@foursquare.com. They’re really nice!
