API highlight: A Special for our four-legged friends
We created our API so that developers could layer their creativity atop foursquare. And every week, we see tons of awesome apps and integrations coming from people around the world. So, we decided to start sharing some of our favorites with you.
As a company of dog lovers, this one really touched our hearts. GranataPet, a German dog food manufacturer, created a billboard that dispenses a treat for your dog when you check in to it.
It was a pretty straightforward integration (and not dissimilar from checking in to get into an office): for every check-in, a black box controlled by the server dispensed a free sample of product into a bowl located at the bottom of the billboard. And, judging from the reactions, it was a hit with both dogs and their owners. Plus, it’s a billboard that dispenses food. Welcome to the future, people!
