More powerful tools for businesses. Introducing our Merchant API.
On the heels of a national partnership with American Express as well as deals through Explore, we’re thrilled to announce that we are now making it even easier for our merchant partners to use foursquare.
Today, we’re rolling out a new Merchant API, which will allow the 500,000 merchants on foursquare to create Specials using any technology they want. It works like any API – you can build the tools that are right for you. So, for instance, without having to log on to foursquare.com, you can go to your existing business dashboard and edit your Specials. This is especially useful for people like agencies or big chains who manage a lot of different locations. Our 10,000-strong developer community has been asking for this for a while, as have our big national partners.
We’re psyched to announce that we’ve been working with a a bunch of great partners who are building foursquare into their analytics tool kits. Yext’s integration is already live, and you can expect foursquare integration soon from Patch, CityGrid, and Clickable. It makes it so much easier for businesses to integrate foursquare with their existing programs.

This is our first step to offering rich API functionality targeted at merchants and B2B app developers. Interested in learning more? It’s easy to get started.
