foursquare for Universities 2.0, coming this fall!

When we rolled out the foursquare for Universities program last year, we had no idea what an enormous success it would be. Since then, we’ve launched tons of new features and hit a milestone of 10 million users, with campuses being a huge driver of that growth. So, today, we’re excited to announce the launch of our new custom badge program for university partners who want to deeply incorporate and promote the use of foursquare on campus.

We’re currently working with an incredible group of launch partners on this effort. Joining Harvard, Stanford, and Syracuse are awesome schools like Arizona State University, Texas A&M, UCLA, University of Oregon, Texas Tech, USC, Duke University, West Virginia University, University of Oklahoma, University of South FloridaUniversity of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Kansas, Virginia Tech, UC Berkeley, and The Ohio State University. Get excited, the badges will be live at the beginning of the fall semester! And there are a lot more schools on the way!

With hundreds of schools now on foursquare, we’ll be introducing a ton of improvements for foursquare on campus in the coming months. We’ll have more to announce soon, but in the meantime, we encourage all interested universities to get in touch with us here. If you’re a student who wants to get involved, we’re relaunching our ambassador program for fall 2011! Sign up here!

We hope you’re as excited about the new school year as we are. Stay tuned for more!
