From the internet to your To-Do List: add places to your phone with the ‘save to foursquare’ bookmarklet!
Earlier today, we announced the new ‘Save to foursquare’ button, a handy way to save places mentioned in reviews, profiles, or guides from a ton of partner publications – like CBS, Time Out, and Frommer’s – straight to your foursquare To-Do list.
But if your favorite publication isn’t using the button on their site yet, don’t fret! We also built a ‘Save’ button that you can take with you and use on any page on the internet.
Just drag and drop our new bookmarklet to the bookmark bar on your browser and save a place to foursquare from any website. (Pro Tip: there’s also a chrome extension.)
Read about a new vintage store on your favorite fashion blog? Find a guide on a travel site to the Top 10 Restaurants in the city you’re visiting next weekend? Or maybe your friend just sent you the google place page for a bar they want to check out. Click on your bookmarklet and save places to your foursquare Lists, just like with the publisher button that’s now featured on a bunch of our partner sites.
Just like any place you’ve saved to a foursquare list, we’ll remind you about it the next time you’re nearby and searching for a recommendation in ‘Explore.’ If you’re already using Radar, we’ll even buzz your phone when you’re close.
Both of these ‘Save to foursquare’ buttons are a huge step towards our vision of helping people explore their cities. Now it’s even easier to take all the things you discover online and enjoy them when you’re offline.
Ready to give your To-Do list some love? Add the button to your bookmark bar now! (And don’t forget to check out all the awesome publishers who have the ‘Save to foursquare’ button on their sites.)
