A date with Dennis, the Title Belt, and more – announcing our Global Hackathon prizes (sign up today!)

Calling all hackers – the Foursquare Hackathon is just two weeks away! On November 3, the person (or team) that builds the best new connected app using the Foursquare API will win the famed Foursquare Title Belt, a custom Marsbot cartoon (courtesy of lead designer Mari Sheibley), and a video date with Foursquare CEO Dennis Crowley.

We’ve also lined up some awesome prizes from our sponsors:

  • NASDAQ will fly 3 people to NYC to ring the NASDAQ closing bell (you’ll be on TV!) and feature your app on their Times Square billboard.
  • Twilio’s giving away custom action figures and $100 in Twilio credits to up to 5 winners who build off the Twilio API.
  • For the best app incorporating the Mashery API, the Mashery folks will be giving away tickets to SXSW (not including airfare/accommodation) plus a day of glory in the Mashery Circus Mashimus.

If you’re in NYC or SF and want to hack away in our offices, they’ll be open and ready for you (with some treats!). Developers and designers around the world can also compete from the location of their choosing (and have the chance to win any of these prizes).

Still need to sign up? It’s not too late. Just go to our Meetup page to register and find hacker friends in your city, and keep a look out for news and other information at hackathon.foursquare.com. And if you’re looking for ideas, check out Team Foursquare’s wish list.
