Hey NYC – support small businesses affected by Sandy when you check in for Rally Downtown

On Dec. 7, New Yorkers can compete for prizes and help rebuild small businesses in Manhattan by taking part in a Foursquare scavenger hunt. The hunt is just one part of Rally Downtown, a two-day event designed by StartUp New York to help local businesses recover post-Sandy.

To compete for prizes including a one-year supply of cupcakes from Butter Lane and gift cards to Bareburger, Mercer Street Books, and more, sign up at http://www.rallydowntown.org/. Then, on the day of the hunt, check in at businesses on the list of ‘hot spots’ (like City Winery, The Hat Shop, and Croissanteria) to unlock specials with details about the “mission” you must complete.
